Shedeur Sanders, Cleveland Browns quarterback, may soon be traded out of the team before even playing his first game, according to former NFL quarterback Kurt Benkert. Benkert reacted to a tweet by sports reporter Adam Schefter, which stated that Sanders had suffered a shoulder injury and thus was being kept out of practice sessions at the training camp.

Sanders did indeed struggle with his shoulder, but it was not an exact injury and seems to be just ‘soreness’ according to the quarterback himself. However, the shoulder soreness kept him out of a few practice sessions, which are pretty crucial considering that the preseason is right around the corner.
“Browns QB Shedeur Sanders is being held out of team drills today due to what the team is calling shoulder soreness.” Adam Schefter reported from his X account on Saturday.

“This is what they do before a trade” Kurt Benkert replied to Schefter’s tweet about Shedeur Sanders.

Shedeur Sanders is currently listed as the fourth quarterback for the Cleveland Browns in their depth chart. While the listing is definitely not official, it was surprising to see Dillon Gabriel overtake Sanders as QB3. However, Gabriel was picked in the third round of the draft, while Sanders had to wait until the fifth to be bagged, which is understandable as to why the team would give them those positions.
Shedeur Sanders Does Not Want Father To Watch Him At Training Camp
It is no doubt that Shedeur Sanders and his father, Deion ‘Coach Prime’ Sanders, share a very close bond. In fact, some would say that their bond is perhaps too close, with many calling Deion Sanders an over-involved father. It was therefore shocking to hear Shedeur Sanders say to reporters that he definitely does not want his dad to come watch him at training camp.

Shedeur Sanders’s insistence on not having his father come watch at camp does not stem from a hatred or dislike of the man, but because the rookie quarterback feels that he has still not accomplished enough to make his dad proud.
Sanders admitted to reporters that he would not want Deion Sanders to come to training camp and cheer for him as he does a few practice moves. Instead, it seems like Shedeur Sanders is waiting for a better opportunity where he can showcase his skill sets and then have his father cheer him on.
