If there is one thing the Colorado football and quarterback Shedeur Sanders will do, it is letting the play on-field talk for them.
The Buffaloes struggled last season and finished with a 4-8 record largely due to the offense line play. Sanders was sacked 52 total times for an average of 4.7 sacks per game last season, losing 458-yards in the process. Sanders was also injured last season and missed time as the result of a big hit during a sack.
Heading into the 2024 season the Colorado team was the talk of the town due to the rankings snub and need for success. Coach Deion Sanders was hired to turn the program around, but clearly needs more than a single season to properly do so.
Colorado suffered a difficult 28-10 loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers two weeks ago where Sanders was sacked six times. Sanders controversially threw his offensive line under the bus when he responded to a reporter stating, “How many times did Dylan get touched?”
The quarterback was asked what went wrong for the Colorado football team and what led to the defeat against Nebraska.
Following the loss, old interviews with Colorado State Rams quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi and wide receiver Tory Horton emerged. The duo stated in the interview, “They do a lot of talking on Instagram,” in reference to Sanders and the Buffaloes. This further sparked controversy as the Colorado football team did not take kindly to the comments.
Sanders refused to shake hands with Fowler-Nicolosi after the game, stating, “You really talk a lot of s— too.”
While Fans, Analysts Alike Become Angered Colorado Football Continues to Block Out Everything
The Colorado football program has been no stranger to controversies, between a false report on family rap songs being played over the fight song to a reporter receiving a ban after a controversial question himself.
Coach Deion Sanders and quarterback Shedeur, along with safety Shilo, continue to do their own thing no matter what the public feels. Some college football fans have been outraged, and want to watch Colorado lose every game. While others appreciate the showmanship and dedication to his sons that Sanders displays.
Shedeur Sanders REFUSED to shake the opposing team’s QB’s hands after beating them last night.
Sanders reportedly then told the opposing QB that he “cannot” f*ck with him.

The quarterback has paid no attention to the off-field craze surrounding how he has lived his life both on and off the field. Sanders has tossed for 999-yards and nine touchdowns already this season with two four touchdowns games.
Sanders is still projected to be a top-pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, along with dynamic wide receiver/defensive back Travis Hunter. While many fans and analysts believe various off-field factors could affect his draft position, it seems unlikely given his on-field play.
Quarterback Baker Mayfield is an example some have used, as Mayfield had severe off-field issues including an arrest. However, the quarterback still went to the Cleveland Browns with the top-pick after winning the 2017 Heisman Trophy.
