The king of conferences. Here is the SEC power rankings for week 10. I have done the ACC, Big 10, Big 12 and PAC 12 for week 10. But as always, I save the best for last. The conference where it just means more and it shows on the field and in the wallets of the boosters. The South East just does college football right.
SEC Power Rankings: Playoff Contenders
#1 Tennessee
The Vols are still number one in the SEC power rankings this week. They went out and absolutely dominated the Kentucky Wildcats and “first round QB,” Will Levis. The Tennessee defense was what really surprised and impressed me. They held Levis to under 100 yards passing and picked him off three times. Not only was the defense playing better than ever, Hendon Hooker continued his Heisman push. The Vols are running on all cylinders at the perfect time with the big game at Athens this weekend. This Georgia versus Tennessee game will determine a lot in the SEC and playoff picture. Can’t wait!

#2 Georgia
The Bulldogs did exactly what they should have done versus Florida this past week. The game was never in question and they cruised to an easy win in the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. Now the big game is on versus the Vols. Who will be number one in the SEC power rankings this time next week? The winner of the game this week will be in the driver’s seat to the SEC title game. Who will I take on the Spiked College Football Show? Will I make any bets on this game on Units Only Go Up? Stay tuned this week for the preview of the game and the bets.

#3 Alabama
The Tide have their last big test of the year this weekend in the Bayou. If they get past the Tigers in Death Valley this weekend, they will cruise to the SEC West Title. Sorry, Ole Miss, you are not for real. Alabama just needs to be Alabama. Play great defense and have Bryce Young be the Heisman trophy winner; shake off that Tennessee loss and take it out on the Tigers this weekend. If they don’t handle business, things will start to be said about Saban and leaving, just saying.

SEC Power Rankings: Good Teams
#4 LSU
The Bayou Tigers and Brian Kelly face their biggest game of the year this week. The Tide come into town looking to get back on the winning track. Can Kelly, and Jayden Daniels fend off the Crimson Tide and have an inside track at the SEC title game? I think if Daniels plays his best with his feet and arms they could keep it competitive. If the game is close in the fourth quarter the voodoo of the bayou could come into play and force a big turnover for the Tigers defense. It has happened before and I won’t say it can’t happen again, even against Bama.

#5 Mississippi State
Remember this is the SEC power rankings, not standings. I think if the Mississippi State Bulldogs played any team ranked below them they would win. It is that simple. I think Leach will get this offense going off the bye week and the Bulldogs could even beat Georgia coming off the big Tennessee game. They could play their way right to nine wins and a very good bowl game to end on a good note. Give me more cowbell baby!

#6 Ole Miss
Sorry I am not like everyone else and get impressed when they beat a very dysfunctional A&M team. Again, just like last week, they can run the ball but can not throw. Their defense didn’t look that great against the Aggies either letting him throw for over 300 yards. The Rebels just don’t have the juice to win the conference and they will lose the egg bowl.

SEC Power Rankings: Mid Teams
#7 Arkansas
They are exactly that term, mid. They can run the ball on undersized defenses, but can’t throw it on anyone. They can stop the run, but can not stop the pass. They have given up at least 21 points in every single game this year, even to Missouri State. It is looking like they will finish 7-5 exactly like I predicted on the Spiked College Football Show, after they started 3-0. So be proud of the bowl appearance, Razorback fans,. With Pittman, that’s as far as you will ever go; the Gator Bowl.

#8 South Carolina
They proved me so right this past weekend. They are exactly average, and losing at home to a bad Missouri team after beating A&M the week before is expected. Good teams go back to back on conference wins. They don’t have let downs. The Gamecocks had a let down this week and it was very obvious to see. They are a very average team that will make a bowl but will not be better than that this year. But I think that is a good year for Coach Beamer and the Cocks.

#9 Kentucky
When will y’all start listening to me? I told you Will Levis is overrated in September. He threw for 98 yards and 3 interceptions. Does that sound like a first round draft pick? He only completes slants, screens and interceptions. It is a shame because Chris Rodriguez is a hell of a running back, but the Vols shut him down. The QB play could not open up the running game and the Vols just feasted on the Wildcats offense. The Cats will finish 7-5 at best, just like I said a few weeks ago.

#10 Florida
They didn’t get laughed off the field versus Georgia, so I guess that is a win. I keep saying next year for the Gators. Right now they have an outside chance of winning two more games and becoming bowl eligible. Maybe AR-15 can get them to a bowl and build some positive vibes into next year.

#11 Missouri
They are exactly a middle of the road team. They can win and play tough at home, but lose most games on the road; except this week. They actually played very well in South Carolina this week and have a two game winning streak. If they can somehow pull off two more wins in the tough SEC, they can be bowl eligible when that didn’t look like it was in the cards a few weeks ago.

SEC Power Rankings: Sun Belt Teams Are Better Than
#12 Texas A&M
At least they found their QB for the future. Guys smoking pot before games, looks like Jimbo has a Blue Mountain State situation in College Station. Not a cohesive team; no leadership, bad coaching. Just not a great team this year. Jimbo is on the hot seat I think early next year.

#13 Vandy
Same as last week except they didn’t lose a game, bye week. The grade point average stayed up, so thats all the SEC needs from the Nashville boys.

#14 Auburn
Have you fired Harsin yet? No. But you got a new AD? Good, maybe next week you can move up a spot in the SEC power rankings by firing Harsin. I told you the Tigers would remain here until then.
