Tuesday night was the second edition of the College Football Playoff rankings, and many SEC teams were nowhere to be found in the Top Five.
Usually, a few SEC teams are within the first five in the rankings, but this poll was very different from previous years.
The only SEC team ranked within the first five was Texas at three, and who can even call them a real team from the conference yet since they haven’t even been in there a full year?
The other four teams were all Big Ten, with Oregon at one, Ohio State at Two, Penn State at four, and Indiana at fifth, which caused one top college football analyst to make a sarcastic remark on SEC bias.
Is There Still A SEC Bias?
Many people have called for SEC bias over the years, meaning that the college football world favors teams from the SEC over every other conference, but the new college football rankings show that is not the case.
College football analyst Josh Pate tweeted a picture of the Top Five teams and stated,” SEC bias is out of control.

There was no SEC basis here, and a team from the conference wasn’t even ranked sixth, and it went to BYU from the Big 12.
The SEC has always been the best conference in the sport, and that’s why they were always at the top, but this season, they have taken a step back, and maybe they will figure it out come playoff time.
