The Seahawks playoff scenarios for Week 18
The Seattle Seahawks playoff scenarios are not far-fetched here in Week 18. The Seahawks have been a pleasant surprise this season. After losing quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos this season, the Seahawks have rallied with Geno Smith to stay in the playoff chase.
The Seahawks won four straight in the middle of the season. However, they’ve lost five of their previous seven games. Because of the late-season slide, the Seahawks will need to win and get some help to reach the Wild Card round.
The Seahawks need to beat the lowly Los Angeles Rams Sunday afternoon. The defending Super Bowl champs have had numerous injuries in bad luck. However, they’ve been dangerous since they signed Baker Mayfield. They’ll look to play spoiler over their divisional rival.
The Seahawks need to couple their win with a Green Bay Packers loss. Unfortunately for the Seahawks, the Lions will be on the road against the Packers in a must win for Aaron Rodgers and crew. The Lions might not have the same fight if they see the Seahakws have eliminated them.
The chances of this happening
According to the New York Times, the Seahawks playoff scenarios falling their way have a 19 percent chance of happening. They seem to like the Packers odds agaisnt the Lions on Sunday Night Football. If the Seahawks beat the Rams, their chances jump to just 36 percent. Essentially, they NYT is giving the Packers a 64 percent chance of beating the Lions.
That would be an unfortunate way to end the season. But the Seahawks needed to finish better over the previous two months.
