The 4-4 Seattle Seahawks host the 3-4 Los Angeles Rams at Lumen Field on Sunday afternoon for their ninth regular season game. After their Week 9 game, the Seahawks will have a much-needed BYE next week. The BYE couldn’t have come at a better time since they are banged up.
Injuries have decimated the right tackle position for the Seahawks. So far, three players have started a game this season, and not to mention their starter hasn’t played yet. Their swing tackle hasn’t played since Week 1 due to injury.

The Seattle Seahawks swing tackle suffered an injury in the season opener
George Fant suffered an apparent knee injury during the first quarter of their season opener. Fant didn’t return for the remainder of the opener and missed Week 2. The Seahawks placed him on injured reserve ahead of Week 3, and he has spent the past six games on injured reserve.
The Seahawks designated Fant for return from injured reserve on October 23 and opened his practice window. He has a 21-day window to practice with the team before they can activate him from injured reserve. Since being designated for return, he practiced last week but ultimately didn’t get activated in time for Week 8.

George Fant started Wednesday’s practice as a limited participant before being upgraded to a full participant for Thursday and Friday. Surprisingly, Fant did not have an injury diagnosis for tomorrow’s game when they released the final injury report of the week yesterday. For him to play tomorrow, they had to activate him by today’s deadline of 4 P.M. ET.
On X, the Seattle Seahawks announced they had activated him from injured reserve.
