The Seattle Seahawks’ left tackle, Charles Cross, had a breakout 2024 campaign, improving both pass protection and run blocking. He allowed 47 pressures, 36 hurries, five quarterback hits, and six sacks in 17 starts. Cross also posted an 81.3 pass-blocking grade, a 77.9 run-blocking grade, and an 82.5 overall PFF grade, ranking 15th, 16th, and 10th among qualified offensive tackles.

Since Charles Cross completed his third regular season, he can negotiate and sign a long-term contract extension this offseason. Because the Seahawks exercised his $17.56 million fully guaranteed 5th-year option, he is under contract through 2026 and will enter free agency in 2027 unless something changes. Cross had a $6.80 million cap hit in 2025 and $17.56 million in 2026.

During an interview with Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic, Charles Cross shared his thoughts on having his 5th-year option exercised, signing with an agency, and ongoing contract negotiations. He is very happy the Seahawks picked up his option and wants to play his entire career in Seattle, one of the top organizations in the NFL. Cross isn’t very concerned about contract talks as he is focused on right now.

“I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else but Seattle,” Cross said on Wednesday, via Dugar. “I love the fans here. I love the team. One of the greatest organizations in the NFL. I like it here a lot.

“It was just a decision I felt was best for me and it just ended up working out that way. I’m just worried about right now. We’ll get to that when that time comes.”
