This week, the Miami Dolphins are trading youth for experience as training camp continues in early August. On Saturday, the Dolphins announced they released an undrafted rookie in favor of a veteran offensive lineman who played for the Dallas Cowboys last season.
Earlier this week, the Dolphins released undrafted free agent defensive tackle Mario Kendricks and signed veteran wide receiver Willie Snead IV with the open spot.
The Miami Dolphins released Ireland Brown
Per a statement by the Dolphins, the team released offensive lineman Ireland Brown on Saturday:
Brown signed with Miami as an undrafted college free agent on May 14, 2024. He played four seasons with Rutgers (2020-23), where he appeared in 33 games. After seeing action in five games and recording three tackles on the defensive line as a sophomore in 2020, Brown moved to the offensive line for the remainder of his collegiate career, where he played in 28 games with 17 starts – 11 at center and six at left guard.
Sean Harlow signed with the Dolphins
With an open roster spot, the Dolphins signed former Atlanta Falcons draft pick Sean Harlow:
Harlow has played in 41 career games with eight starts – five at left guard and three at center. He spent time with the N.Y. Giants and Dallas in 2023 after playing two seasons with Arizona (2021-22) and four with Atlanta (2017, 2018-20). He also had a stint on Indianapolis’s practice squad in 2018. Harlow was a fourth-round pick (136th overall) by Atlanta in the 2017 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at Oregon State.
Pro Football Focus gave Harlow a 45.3 overall grade for his play last season in 16 total offensive snaps. He earned a 73.3 pass-blocking grade for his 13 pass-blocking snaps at center. He allowed one pressure in 13 pass-blocking attempts last season.
