Multiple reports indicated that the 21-year-old impressed several scouts from the NFL after his strong outing on Monday night. They reportedly took notice of his decision-making against a complex defensive scheme.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel shared the scouting buzz in his recent assessment. He noted that the unique opportunity Texas native faced against the Belichick family defense could keep him on the NFL radar.

The quarterback delivered on that opportunity in spectacular fashion. He alone gave Bechhick and his son probably the hardest time, which ended in absolute humiliation.

WR Jordan Dwyer emerged as his most trusted target. He reeled in nine catches for 136 yards, showcasing Hoover’s impressive ability to develop chemistry with his receivers.
Hoover looked comfortable while in control throughout the contest speaks volumes. That poise may be exactly why Nick Saban praised him as one of the best quarterbacks this season, even before the game began.

“The most underrated quarterback, or under-the-radar quarterback in the country,” Saban said on ESPN. “This guy almost threw for 4,000 yards last year and 27 touchdowns. This guy’s a pure passer… He can process and get the ball out of his hand quickly and accurately as well as anybody I’ve seen so far this year.”
With Saban joining the chorus of praise, TCU’s quarterback has proved he belongs among the nation’s elite QBs. It’s good to see him finally getting the recognition he deserves.
