The San Francisco 49ers are looking to make another run at the Super Bowl after losing to the Kansas City Chiefs last season. The team has been able to maintain its big playmakers on offense and defense, however, star receiver Brandon Aiyuk has been holding out to try and either get a new contract with San Francisco or be traded to another squad. Finally, the 49ers have made an official decision on Aiyuk.
Brandon Aiyuk Contract

San Francisco has finally made a deal with the star receiver, signing him to a four-year, $120 million contract with $76 million guaranteed. While it may sound like a great deal and is a great deal, Aiyuk has had this same contract offer since August 12 and has been holding out since then to get an even better deal.
In the end, Brandon Aiyuk accepted the same deal that has been on the table since August. 12, per league sources. His hold-in did not alter any part of his new four-year, $120 million extension. He took the same deal that had been there in previous weeks. Hold-in over. pic.twitter.com/OVocS4mbCA

San Francisco 49ers Fans React

Aiyuk’s contract is exactly the same it was since August 12, which has caused 49ers fans to be confused as to why the superstar didn’t just sign the deal on the table much sooner. Here are some of the fan reactions to the contract on social media:
I thought this is what he was holding out for 😭😭. No way he has this on the table for weeks and didn’t take it until now….

Justin Jefferson got $140, for Aiyuk to get $120 is not a bad deal by any stretch. He made the right decision and got his bag.

This is a terrible look.

Aiyuk Career

Since joining the 49ers in 2020, the star receiver has amounted to 3,931 receiving yards with 25 touchdowns. He reached his career high in yards last season (1,342), which is what caused Aiyuk to get an extension. While there were many trade rumors regarding the star receiver this offseason, no team was able to offer Aiyuk what he wanted. Teams like the New England Patriots, Washington Commanders, and the Pittsburgh Steelers had offers in place, however, none of them were up to his standards.
What are your thoughts on the new Aiyuk contract, and do you think he deserved more money than he got, or should he have taken a contract with a different team?
