The Brock Purdy saga in Santa Clara is finally over, as the quarterback landed a huge extension contract with the San Francisco 49ers.
Purdy reportedly agreed to a five-year, $265 million extension deal with the Niners, who showed their trust in the former Iowa State Cyclones star signal-caller with that financial gesture. Moreover, Purdy’s new contract comes with $181 million of guaranteed money.
However, Purdy’s contract has become a divisive topic, especially among NFL fans. While many believe he deserves the bag, others think that the 49ers overpaid for him.
In any case, Purdy got what he wanted – and the support of San Francisco star running back Christian McCaffrey.

In an Instagram story post, McCaffrey shared a video of Purdy with the following message: “Yessir,” along with a money bag emoji.

McCaffrey knows a thing or two about securing a big contract. He signed a two-year extension with the 49ers in 2024, worth $38 million. His career earnings in the NFL is also over $81 million, per Spotrac.
Together, McCaffrey and Purdy will look to help the 49ers reclaim their spot as one of the best teams in the NFL after missing the playoffs in the 2024 season.
