The 2025 NFL Draft is right around the corner and the San Francisco 49ers will need to make some major moves in order to get back into contention next season.
After a tough offseason that saw seen the 49ers either move on from or lose several key players, there are major questions about the franchise. However, there have been some rumblings that San Francisco may not be done making moves.
Brandon Aiyuk, the team’s lone remaining star wideout, has been rumored to be on the trade lock. Could a deal end up happening ahead of the NFL Draft?
That is exactly what one prediction has happening.
San Francisco 49ers Predicted to Make Mind-Blowing Trade with New Orleans Saints
Anthony Palacios of Last Word on Sports has predicted the New Orleans Saints could be a trade partner for the 49ers should they choose to move Aiyuk.
“Head Coach Kellen Moore could finally come in and tell Mickey Loomis it’s time to rebuild, and as long as he agrees, Brandon Aiyuk could be an exciting addition for Olave to stay.”
Aiyuk would be a major get for the Saints, who badly need more offensive firepower. He would give Derek Carr another top-tier weapon to work with and would instantly become the top wide receiver option in New Orleans.
During the 2024 NFL season with San Francisco, Aiyuk only played in seven games before going down with a torn ACL. In those appearances, he caught 25 passes for 374 yards. He did not score a touchdown.
What would the price tag be for the 49ers to part ways with Aiyuk? That has not been reported to this point in time. It seems likely that it would require nothing less than a second-round pick to trade him away.
Expect to continue hearing rumors and speculation about Aiyuk’s future in San Francisco. For now, he’s simply a player who could be on the move if the right deal is offered.
