The San Francisco 49ers‘ chances at making the playoffs this season took a massive blow after their 35-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. The team now sits at a 5-7 record in last place in the NFC West division. While there is still a chance for San Francisco to turn things around and win their division, it will be tough to do after recent injuries.
San Francisco 49ers RB Out
Star running back Christian McCaffrey re-injured himself in the game against the Bills after recently coming back from a torn Achilles just a few weeks ago. Head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters that it is officially a PCL injury, resulting in McCaffrey having to recover for at least six weeks.
Kyle Shanahan said that Christian McCaffrey did injure his PCL and it is a 6-week recovery. His season now looks like it’s over.

Along with the injury to McCaffrey, running back Jordan Mason, who has started in McCaffrey’s place for most of the season, has suffered an ankle injury that has put him on the injured reserve. This leaves rookie Isaac Guerendo as the starting running back likely for the rest of the season.
49ers Fans React
The 49er faithful have had to deal with several massive injuries to key players this season, and it seems like they have given up any hope that their team can still compete in 2024.
Welp. The 49ers season has officially just ended….

Hope CMC can come back from this. He’s too good to have his career end this early!

McCaffrey has suffered several big injuries throughout his career in the NFL, and now fans are starting to wonder if he will consider retirement soon since he seems to be injury-prone.
