The San Francisco 49ers have been amid an offseason teardown of sorts, but after trading dynamic wide receiver Deebo Samuel, at least one of the team’s stars at the position isn’t likely going anywhere.
Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk is due a $22.85 million roster bonus if he is on the team on Tuesday April 1, and it sure sounds like the 49ers are prepared to pay it.
“We love Brandon Aiyuk as a football player,” Lynch said, via Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com. “We did when we drafted him and we’re excited to move forward with him.”

Trading for Aiyuk would have been costly for any team, or at the very least require restructuring his contract or extending it.
Likewise, Aiyuk’s torn ACL suffered last season complicated any market that might have developed. While anything is possible, and deadlines do tend to spark action, all signs seem to be pointing to San Francisco holding onto Aiyuk, and him opening up the 2025 season in a 49ers uniform.
