The San Francisco 49ers enter their second week of training camp with four of the ideal five starting offensive line positions locked in, with one vacancy remaining. After losing Aaron Banks to the Green Bay Packers, the team will hold a competition for the left guard spot. The 49ers will have four players vying for the starting job this summer, including a lineman who is recovering from an injury.
The San Francisco 49ers placed their veteran guard on the NFI list to start training camp

Ben Bartch suffered a quadriceps injury away from the practice facility during their month-long break, resulting in the 49ers placing him on the non-football injury list to start training camp. As a result, he has missed the first week and a half of practice but has taken part in individual drills off to the side. Bartch is currently the favorite to win the left guard battle and cannot afford to miss any more time.
The San Francisco 49ers activated a potential starting offensive lineman

Ben Bartch has been medically cleared to play, and on X, the 49ers announced they have activated him off the NFI list. As a result, he returned to practice on Thursday and received first-team reps at left guard with the starting offense. If Bartch can stay healthy, there is a good chance he will win the starting job over Nick Zakelj, Connor Colby, and Spencer Burford.
The #49ers sign RB Ameer Abdullah, QB Carter Bradley, WR Marquez Callaway and WR Andy Isabella to one year-deals.
