Michael Thomas is looking like his ‘true-self’ so far in training camp after missing the entire 2021 season due to an ankle/foot injury. Thomas had a brief stint on the PUP list just before the start of Saints training camp, but was activated for the first day of practice. The star wide receiver has been active on 1 on 1’s and involved in 7 on 7’s. Thomas is starting to run more routes. The observations of his status heading into the 2022 season is looking positive.

Thomas is regarded as one of the best wideouts in the NFL and if he can continue to make strides in recovery he is due for a big season. The former Ohio State product has only played in seven games in 2020. He also experienced a setback in 2021 limiting his appearance on the field.
The star wide receiver started off his NFL season with four consecutive seasons of at least 1,100 receiving yards. Thomas also earned three Pro Bowl selections and two first-team All-Pro selections.
His best season came in 2019 where he led the league with 149 catches and 1,725 yards for nine touchdowns. His performance on the field in 2019 earned him NFL Offensive Player of the Year honors.
Add the return of Thomas, first round draft pick Chris Olave and the signing of Jarvis Landry to the offense. The Saints receiving core will be improved heading into the 2022 season.
