The 2023 Pro Bowl Games will kickoff this Sunday at 2 p.m. CT at Allegiant Stadium. Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan was added to the Pro Bowl roster this afternoon and will serve as a replacement. With today’s announcement, it becomes the eight time that Jordan will participate in the Pro Bowl. According to his agent, Doug Hendrickson, it is still unclear who Jordan will replace. Today, Jordan learned that he will be participating in his eighth Pro Bowl in 12 season with the Saints. The veteran defensive end started in 16 of 17 games for New Orleans during the 2022 season. He would miss the first year of his 12-year career with the team due to a fractured orbital bone injury. Jordan showed that in the 2022 season that he is still considered to be one of the best defensive ends in the league.

Even with the one-week absence, Jordan was able to lead the team with 8.5 sacks and he also made history this season by becoming the franchise all-time leader with 115.5 career sacks. Jordan was able to surpass Rickey Jackson after totaling for three sacks in the Saints 20-10 win over Philadelphia to begin the new year. He would be named NFC Defensive Player of the Week in week 17 for his performance against the Eagles. It would be the fifth time in his career that he would receive the honor.

On the season, Jordan complied two forced fumbles, two passes defended, 13 tackles for loss, 13 quarterback hits and 66 tackles. He also was able to post at least 7.5 sacks for the 11th straight season. Teams would be able to double him up throughout the season, but he was still effective as a pass rusher.

The veteran defensive end will join teammate Demario Davis as the only two Saints that will participating in this year’s Pro Bowl. Davis earned his first ever Pro Bowl appearance for a stellar 2022 campaign. Tyrann Mathieu will also be serving as an alternate this weekend.
