Saints DE Brutally Exposes “Superman” Josh Allen’s Choking Habit

Josh Allen tried hard every time, but never shook his playoff failure narrative.

New Orleans Saints defensive end Cam Jordan put a candid take on the Bills’ reigning MVP on ESPN’s “First Take” table, calling the 29-year-old signal-caller a regular-season Superman who shrinks after getting into the postseason.

Allen’s 2025 campaign looked strong on paper, posting 3,668 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions while leading Buffalo to a 13-6 record. They earned the AFC’s third seed and escaped with a close 27-24 W against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

But their run ended the following week, when the Denver Broncos knocked them out in the Divisional Round — another early playoff exit.

In the Divisional Round heartbreak, the Broncos showcased all of Allen’s worst tendencies. He went 25-of-39 for 283 yards with three touchdowns. But his two interceptions cost them big in a 33-30 overtime loss. If one minus those two mistakes, then it was an easy victory for Allen.

But he committed four total turnovers, including a fumble at the end of the first half that gifted Denver three points. Plus, that overtime interception came across as a real criminal act in light of Allen’s choking fate this season.

It wasn’t Allen’s first postseason meltdown, however. He’s now 8-7 in playoff games with zero Super Bowl appearances, including two appearances in the AFC Championship Game.

When ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith asked Jordan which quarterback — Allen, Joe Burrow, or Lamar Jackson — would reach the Super Bowl next, the Saints veteran didn’t hesitate to pick Jackson while torching Allen’s choking gene.

“Josh Allen, if I thought anything, I thought this year was the year,” Jordan said. “I said, ‘All these guys are out, it’s his time.’ And he proved what I thought about him. He plays excellent during season. He shows up, he’s Superman, but at the same time, he can’t win those big games.”

“Right now. Again, he could always switch up the narrative years from now, to next year, whenever that is,” he added.

To be frank, the 2025 playoffs represented Allen’s golden opportunity with Patrick Mahomes, Burrow, and Jackson all missing the postseason for the first time since Allen entered the league in 2018. Instead of capitalizing, Allen choked again with an absolutely close heartbreak.
