NFL analyst Ryan Clark got blasted by Former ESPN anchor Sage Steele over his controversial comments attacking fellow analyst and former NFL star Robert Griffin III.
In a post on X, Sage Steele criticized Ryan Clark over his comments against Robert Griffin III, in light of the latter’s commentary against Chicago Sky star Angel Reese.
“Another classless, divisive, gross, unnecessary comment from Ryan Clark,” Steele said. “But…it’s par for the course. We should expect nothing less. Shameful.”

Clark once refused to work with Steele after she made controversial remarks about Barack Obama, questioning why he identified as Black despite his father’s absence in his life. Clark later confirmed that he avoided appearing on-air with Steele due to discomfort with her statements, though he clarified that he had no issue with her political stance.
Steele’s comments came in light of how Ryan Clark criticized Robert Griffin III over his comments about Angel Reese, arguing that Griffin lacks the perspective to understand the struggles of Black women because he has been married to white women in both of his marriages.
Clark dismissed Griffin’s harsh critique of Reese, stating that Griffin is “not having conversations at his home about what Black women have to endure in this country”. He accused Griffin of playing into harmful stereotypes, suggesting that Griffin’s commentary aligns with figures like Keith Olbermann and Dave Portnoy, who have also been critical of Reese.
Clark also highlighted how Griffin would often make “milk” jokes about his wife.
“When I worked with RG3, he would make all of these sorts of corny jokes about milk and how much he loved it and how important it was,” Clark said. “And he always points out on social media the color of his wife’s white skin. As if the color of her skin is what makes her special. As if the color of her skin is what makes her a good wife.”
RGIII, Wife Claps Back at Ryan Clark
Robert Griffin III fired back at Ryan Clark in a video, calling Clark’s remarks “cowardly, spineless, and weak”, arguing that his family should not be dragged into a sports debate.
Griffin’s wife, Grete Griffin, also responded on social media, posting a video seemingly mocking Clark’s comments. The feud escalated as Griffin accused Clark of launching a personal attack rather than engaging in a legitimate sports discussion.
So far, Ryan Clark has yet to give another counter comment towards GRIII or his wife on the issue.
