Russell Wilson has something to prove in 2025, and he’ll try to do so in front of the fiercest media in the sports industry, now that he’s playing for the New York Giants.
However, the 10-time Pro Bowler isn’t scared of the challenge and the immense pressure that comes with playing the most important position in football for a team that’s followed 24/7 by an unforgiving sports coverage and fanbase that always demand success.
“The opportunity here is so great,” Wilson said during a recent appearance on the 7PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony podcast (h/t Bobby Kownack of the NFL’s website). “I don’t mind the lights. I don’t mind that part of it. I think the other part of it for me, most importantly of it all that, is I’ve been here before. When you walk into a stadium, into a locker room and you know, like my locker is the same locker I had when I won the Super Bowl. So, for me, when I see that, when I walk into the stadium I’m like, I’ve been here before. Not just been here but, like, we did this before.
Russell Wilson believes in the Giants despite the pressure

After a short stint with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024, Wilson decided to take his act to the NFC East division, signing a one-year contract worth $10.5 million with the Giants last March. New York won just three games last season, but Wilson believes the team has what it takes to succeed.
“So, I fundamentally believe it’s possible again in terms of being successful again and being at the highest level,” the Super Bowl-winning QB said.” I think we got the right guys. … There’s a lot of good pieces to it. And it’s a show.”
