The Cleveland Browns might bring in Tyler Shough of the Louisville Cardinals according to football analyst Mel Kiper’s mock draft. The Browns are keen on adding another quarterback to their locker room, and Shough will add plenty of value to their offense if the team indeed drafts him.
Tyler Shough split his college football time with the Oregon Ducks, the Texas Tech Red Raiders and the Louisville Cardinals. In his senior year with the Louisville Cardinals, the 25-year-old quarterback managed a total of 3,195 passing yards scoring 23 touchdowns, while managing six interceptions for the team.
“Deshaun Watson is out with a re-torn Achilles, and Kenny Pickett is the only other quarterback on the Browns’ roster. Shough has the arm strength to drive the ball in Cleveland weather, and he looks the part at 6-foot-5 and 219 pounds. Some evaluators will be concerned by his age (turning 26 this year), but the flip side of that is his experience – he has thrown 951 passes over 43 career games. He could compete with Pickett for starts,” Mel Kiper wrote in his NFL mock draft on ESPN.

The Cleveland Browns are eager to improve their record in the 2025 NFL season after a dismal season last time out. In the previous season, the Browns finished fourth in the AFC North with only three wins and 14 defeats. The Browns played their very last game of the year against the Baltimore Ravens, losing with an embarrassing 35-10 score.
Cleveland Browns Insider Defends Deion Sanders
The Cleveland Browns have been eyeing Shedeur Sanders even before the 2024 NFL season ended. The team is hoping to rope in the talented quarterback who last played for the Colorado Buffaloes. While Sanders is definitely a brilliant player, there have been numerous accusations mainly calling out his arrogance and also his father’s influence on him.
Shedeur Sanders is the younger son of Deion Sanders, also known as Coach Prime. From shining in his NFL career, Deion Sanders has managed to translate his expertise as a player into coaching and has coached the Jackson State Tigers and the Colorado Buffaloes where his sons played. However, some insiders and scouts have highlighted Deion Sanders’ stronghold on his son, and that he might end up pulling the reins.
Cleveland Browns insider Kenny Mac came out in defense of both Shedeur Sanders and his father, mentioning that as a dad, he will not put his son’s career in danger. Mac also went on to reiterate that Deion Sanders’ presence will not be a problem for the Cleveland Browns.
