Ohio State vs. Akron Will Kickoff at 3:30 pm on August 31, 2024
The season opener for The Ohio State Buckeyes will be against the Akron Zips at 3:30 pm EST on August 31st at the Horseshoe. The game will be televised on CBS, however, the broadcast crew for the game has not been announced yet.
The Buckeyes open this game a resounding 50.5-point favorite. Ohio State is 4-0 all-time vs Akron, with an average margin of victory of 37 points.
Ryan Day and the Buckeyes should roll in this matchup, giving time for a lot of players to see the field, which could mean we see multiple quarterbacks take snaps, though Will Howard appears to be in line to be the team’s starter.
Ohio State vs. Western Michigan Will Kickoff at 7:30 pm on September 7, 2024
In week 2 The Ohio State Buckeyes will play the Western Michigan Broncos on Saturday, September 7 at 7:30 pm EST. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network, the broadcast crew for the game has not been announced yet.
The spread for this game is no longer available, but at one point the Buckeyes as a 22.5-point favorite over the Broncos. Ohio State is 1-0 all-time against Western Michigan, winning that lone matchup 38-12 on September 26, 2015.
Western Michigan has shown an ability to fight against power five opponents in the past, but should struggle to compete in this one, giving the Buckeyes a great opportunity to get their new offense ready for Big Ten play.
Tickets are available for both games on the Ohio State Athletics website.
