The Tennessee Titans cut a wide receiver
The Tennessee Titans are parting ways with a wide receiver Wednesday. The Titans’ offense traded their best wide receiver, A.J. Brown, during the 2022 offseason. That move helped the Philadelphia Eagles make the Super Bowl as the Titans missed the playoffs. Now the Titans will be without their leading wide receiver from the 2022 season.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz with The Score, the Titans released wide receiver Robert Woods.

Woods was the Titans leading receiver with 527 yards receiving. He also caught two touchdown passes. His stats were significantly lower than his peak with the Los Angeles Rams in 2018-19, when he had over 1,000 yards receiving in consecutive seasons. However, the Titans’ issues with injuries and inexperience at quarterback didn’t help Woods’ stats in 2022.
The release comes with Woods still having three years left on his contract. The move will save the Titans’ cap space. Woods, who would be playing in his 11th season in 2023, will likely be able to find another team to play for next season.
