The Philadelphia Eagles have a finalist for the DC opening
The Philadelphia Eagles are dealing with one negative side of NFL success this offseason. Finding assistant replacements. The Eagles lost their offensive and defensive coordinators to teams that offered them head coaching positions. After early interviews, the Eagles now have a finalist for the defensive coordinator job.
The Eagles recently announced one candidate, Jim Leonhard, is out of the race for the job. Now the team is looking at a candidate with NFL defensive coordinator experience to replace Jonathan Gannon.
According to Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, Sean Desai will have a second interview with the Eagles. He’s currently the Seattle Seahawks associate head coach and defensive assistant.
#Seahawks associate head coach and defensive assistant Sean Desai is in the building in Philly today, doing a second interview for the #Eagles vacant DC job, per me and @MikeGarafolo. Desai, a Vic Fangio disciple, is a finalist for the post previously held by Jonathan Gannon.

Desai has experience working as a member of Vic Fangio’s staff. He was the Chicago Bears safeties coach when Fangio was the defensive coordinator from 2015-18. Desai served as the Bears’ defensive coordinator for the 2021 season.
