What is the NIL? NIL stands for name image and likeness. Previously college teams owned the rights to any money made based on the player. Recently we watched as the NIL rules have changed for college athletes. They are  allowed to make money for themselves and build their brand. Just recently Texas Tech involved themselves in the NIL in a big way. They made a 25,000-dollar deal for all of their scholarship students and some of their walk-on students. This is obviously a big move and benefits the students immensely.

There have been speculations online about the new NIL policies Ole Miss is putting in place. Their head coach stated on numerous occasions that the money players make for themselves is the most important thing to him. He firmly believes that professional sports should be paid as such.

Futhermore, the policy from Ole Miss could be very similar to what Texas Tech did. Money is whats driving recruitment. Players wanna go and be on a team where money is a very prominent factor. Evidently, The more traffic and talent you bring to your team boosts the amount of talent you have to choose from. We see what Ole Miss cand do as a power house. In the future we have to wait to see what the decision will be.
