Houston Texans are looking for a quarterback
The Houston Texans are on the prowl for a quarterback this offseason. First-year head coach DeMeco Ryans said quarterback was a major need for the team soon after he was hired. The Texans are considered one of the teams who could draft a quarterback in April, as the team owns the number two overall pick. However, the Texans are reportedly interested in a veteran quarterback.
According to the Houston Chronicle, Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik said the team is interested in San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo:
“We have a process that we go through, Jimmy is obviously a part of that process,” Slowik said.

Garoppolo is set to head into free agency in March after a successful stint with the 49ers, where the team made the Super Bowl. Garoppolo led the team into a playoff hunt after quarterback Trey Lance was injured in Week 2. However, Garoppolo suffered an injury mid-season and missed the end of the 49ers’ regular season and playoff run. The 49ers explicitly stated he would not return to San Francisco next season.
