The Dallas Cowboys offense will look different
The Dallas Cowboys offense is expected to change dramatically for the 2023 season. The Cowboys mutually parted ways with offensive coordinator Kellen Moore following the postseason. Head coach Mike McCarthy is planning on calling plays next season. Now it appears the Cowboys could lose a tight end before next season.
According to Dan Graziano with ESPN, the Cowboys might be unable to extend tight end Dalton Schultz this offseason. The Cowboys applied the franchise tag on Schultz last season, but the team will likely choose to use the tag on running back Tony Pollard over Schultz for 2023:
“The Cowboys also seem likely to let tight end Dalton Schultz — who was their franchise player last year — leave in free agency. But they would like to bring back running back Tony Pollard and could use the franchise tag to do so.”
Schultz, a former fourth-round pick, had 577 yards receiving and five touchdown receptions last season.
