The Cincinnati Bengals are 1-4 to start the 2024 season. If the Bengals were to lose to the New York Giants on Sunday night, they would drop to 1-5 on the season.
With the trade deadline looming on November 5, one of the biggest names potentially on the trade market is Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins. Higgins is a free agent after this season and the Bengals may not want to lose him for nothing.
The Kansas City Chiefs Are Being Linked To Acquire Cincinnati Bengals Wide Receiver Tee Higgins In a Trade
Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report gave his Top 10 players who could potentially be traded before the NFL trade deadline. One of the players who could be traded before then is Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins. He thinks that the Dallas Cowboys or the Kansas City Chiefs could acquire him in a trade.
Knox said about Higgins possibly playing with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs:
“If the Bengals continue to blow games, however, Higgins would be a logical trade commodity because he’s set to be a free agent in the spring.
Higgins is a high-end No. 2 receiver who should draw a fair return, even in a market that could be flooded with receiver talent. Logical suitors include the Kansas City Chiefs, who recently placed Rashee Rice on injured reserve, and the Dallas Cowboys.”
The Chiefs no doubt are dealing with injury issues at the moment at the wide receiver position. Rashee Rice is most likely not coming back this season.
Stats
Higgins this season has caught 18 passes for 182 yards receiving and two touchdowns, along with averaging 10.1 yards per reception. Tee Higgins has been targeted 30 times this season. Even if the Bengals were to trade him, it was malpractice that they didn’t give him a contract extension in the first place.
If Higgins were to get traded, this could cause a ripple effect to Ja’Marr Chase and other players on the roster moving forward. It would be a huge gain for the Kansas City Chiefs.
