Bill Belichick’s HOF snub is still a hot topic, especially since the news massively shocked football fans everywhere. Many fans were majorly taken aback after Belichick did not get enough votes to make it to the revered list, even though he has won six Super Bowls.
Ever since the news went public, people have been scratching their heads and going over notes wondering what exactly went wrong with the voting that led to Belichick’s snub. However, it looks like there is a pretty simple and straightforward reason to all this, which was sitting right in front of people’s noses the entire time. Apparently, Belichick’s infamous romantic relationship with Jordon Hudson has angered many fans to the point that they thought a HOF snub was necessary.

“This wasn’t whispered — it was discussed. People kept asking, ‘Do we really want this to be part of his legacy right now?’ The word ‘creepy’ came up more than once.” An insider told Rob Shuter, who shared it on Substack.
“The timing killed him. If this had surfaced years after his induction, no one would care. But voters vote on legacy, not just stats.” another source told Shuter.
“It started to feel inappropriate to people. Not illegal. Not immoral. But deeply uncomfortable. And voters see themselves as guardians of the game’s image.” One more source told.
“That made it worse. It reinforced the sense that this was becoming a sideshow.” One source spoke to Shuter about Jordon Hudson’s habit of trolling her haters online.
“Tom made the strongest case imaginable. But voters kept circling back to the same question: ‘Do we want Canton talking about this instead of football?’” another source told Shuter, referring to Tom Brady’s involvement in the whole voting process.
““Fair or unfair, the relationship overshadowed everything else. And voters blinked.” Another source said.
It is strange enough that a mere relationship would overshadow Bill Belichick’s entire legacy, which he created in the first place. But his dating Hudson has been massively called out right from the first moment, especially because of the large age-gap between the two.
Bill Belichick’s HOF Snub Gets Gronk Fuming
Nevertheless, Bill Belichick being snubbed from the HOF has undoubtedly angered many fans and even former players. Most recently, Rob Gronkowski called out the HOF and their voting committee for the part they played in robbing Belichick of his deserved honor.

Gronk spoke to Front Office Sports recently and remarked that his former coach definitely “needs” to be in the HOF and that it “needed” to be a first ballot. Belichick himself seemed super-stunned at the snub, questioning whether six Super Bowls were not enough.
