Ravens v Buccaneers: Game and Player Props Predictions

The Baltimore Ravens are 4-2 and are 3.5 point favorites on the road against the 4-2 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Baltimore Ravens and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are both playing quality and offensive orientated football which should make for a fan-friendly Monday night showdown.

Key Player Props:

Lamar Jackson and Baker Mayfield are currently the #2 and #3 quarterbacks in fantasy football. Jackson is averaging 254 yards passing and two total touchdowns over the first six weeks. Meanwhile, Mayfield is averaging 248 yards and 2.8 touchdowns per game. Per ESPN, the Ravens are the #1 scoring offense in football while Tampa Bay ranks #8. Defensively, despite their reputation, the Ravens are the worst in the NFL against the pass, giving up 275.5 yards per game. The Buccaneers aren’t much better, ranking 29th and giving up 252.3 yards per game. I’m expecting an offensive shootout and like both Jackson and Mayfield over the passing yards totals, 230.5 and 256.5 respectively. Odds can be found on PrizePicks.com

Game Prediction:

Currently, the Ravens are 3.5 road favorites heading into Monday night. Normally, betting against road favorites is a profitable strategy; but, recently, the trend suggests to bet the favored team on the road.

Despite the trend, or maybe even because of it, I’m expecting a regression to the mean. I like the Buccaneers to cover the 3.5 and wouldn’t be surprised with an outright win. While Lamar Jackson is in the MVP conversation this year, the Ravens defense has been a liability and will be unlikely to slow down the potent Buccaneers offense. Specifically, the Ravens have struggled against pass heavy offenses and the Buccaneers have both Mike Evans and Chris Godwin fully healthy for Monday Night.

The bottom line is that neither defense is expected to slow the offense down which should result in plenty of points and a close game. In a high scoring close game, key numbers become vital when predicting a side. 3 is a key number and the .5 point hook only improves the Buccaneers chances of covering. I like the Ravens to squeak out a win but Tampa Bay to bring the Road Underdog Trend back to the mean.

Prediction:

Ravens 30 Buccaneers 27
