The Los Angeles Rams wide receiver is currently banged up with Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua being out with injuries. As for the Houston Texans wide receiver room, they have a very deep room with Stefon Diggs, Nico Collins, and Tank Dell as the top three wide receivers on the team.
Los Angeles is 1-2 to start the 2024 season and Houston is 2-1 to start the 2024 season. Many wonder if the injuries on the Rams will cause them to miss the playoffs this season, but many believe that the Texans are going to be a playoff team this season.
Bleacher Report Scouting Department Suggests That the Los Angeles Rams Acquire Robert Woods Via Trade From the Houston Texans
The Bleacher Report Scouting Department assessed what each NFL team needs to do now, in 2025 NFL free agency, and also in the 2025 NFL Draft. They think that Los Angeles needs to trade for wide receiver Robert Woods from Houston. Woods is the odd man out right now for the Texans with the depth they have at wide receiver. The Bleacher Report Scouting Department said:
“The hits just keep on coming for the Rams as the team placed even more players on injured reserve this week. The two position groups that have been impacted the most are the offensive line and wide receiver.
A lineman was suggested last time, so this week’s column will address the skill position with a player who was ranked third on B/R’s NFL Trade Block Big Board column.
“The Rams are the most logical landing spot for Woods for a couple of reasons,” B/R’s Kristopher Knox wrote. “For one, they’re without their top two receivers and could be for some time. According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, [Puka] Nacua could be out until Week 9. [Cooper] Kupp is expected to miss extended time.
“Secondly, Los Angeles is familiar with Woods, who previously spent five seasons with the franchise.””
Woods this season with Houston has caught two passes for 18 yards receiving and zero touchdowns. He is averaging 9.0 yards per catch. Robert Woods has had success in the NFL before.
Los Angeles Rams Need To Trade For a Wide Receiver
A receiving core of Tutu Atwell and Jordan Whittington is not going to cut it for the next several weeks for the Los Angeles Rams. Matthew Stafford and Kyren Williams could be carrying this football team on their backs. After a big win against the San Francisco 49ers, they will need to win again on the road against the Chicago Bears.
If the Rams don’t try to trade for a wide receiver now, it would be silly on their part. The only reason why the Texans would not trade Robert Woods at this point is because of potential injuries to one of the star wide receivers on the roster.
