Rams Injury Report: Is Davante Adams Playing on Sunday After Missing Practice?

Davante Adams missed Wednesday practice with what the Rams called an oblique issue but remains on track to play Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks, the team said. Coach Sean McVay described Adams as making good progress and expected him to be available for the NFC West clash.

Adams exited the Rams’ win over the San Francisco 49ers in the second half after being evaluated for what was initially labeled a back injury and later specified as a side/oblique muscle concern. He still finished the game with six catches for 77 yards and a touchdown, underscoring his importance in Los Angeles’ passing attack even when managed for short stretches.

Despite skipping a formal practice, Adams participated in the team walkthrough and reported feeling well enough to play, according to McVay. The coach said he trusts Adams’ own assessment of his readiness and planned to monitor the veteran receiver over the final days before kickoff, a standard approach for muscular injuries that can respond quickly to rest and treatment.

Medical staff and coaches emphasized a cautious timeline given the physical demands of playing through an oblique issue, particularly against a Seattle defense that ranks among the league’s better units. The team also noted that Puka Nacua and other targets provide depth, which reduces urgency to rush Adams back if he were not ready, though maintaining the veteran’s continuity with quarterback Matthew Stafford remains a priority.

Even though he didn’t join the team for participate, McVay said Adams will play against the Seahawks on Sunday. This can be seen in a post shared by Lindsey Thiry on X.

League reporters relayed optimism inside the organization and general confidence that Adams will be cleared, pointing to his work ethic and ability to manage minor injuries in-season. Opposing teams will watch pregame reports closely; Adams’ availability affects defensive game plans and the matchups the Seahawks will allocate to slow Los Angeles’ multifaceted receiving group.

If Adams plays, the Rams get a major boost for a pivotal divisional game with playoff implications. If he is held out, Los Angeles still has weapons to lean on, but his presence would significantly bolster their red-zone and contested-catch efficiency.

The final decision on Adams will hinge on his day‑to‑day response to treatment and pregame clearance, and the Rams expect to provide an update after practice Friday.
