The Las Vegas Raiders are having a tough 2024 season. They are 4-12 heading into the final week of the season and will host the Los Angeles Chargers for the season finale on Sunday.
However, a colossal report featuring the number one draft pick and Las Vegas has come to light.
Report: Raiders Path To The #1 Draft Pick In 2025 Just Became Real
Over the last two weeks, the Las Vegas Raiders have seriously damaged their draft positioning, going from No. 1 to No. 8. In Week 18, the Raiders may fall even further:
If the Raiders manage to pull off a third-straight victory in the regular season finale against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, Las Vegas may fall one or two more spots depending on the outcomes of the Chicago Bears‘ and New Orleans Saints’ games. With a win, the Raiders would fall one spot for each team that loses.
However, if the Raiders lose, they can still move up, with their highest possible spot being the No. 4 pick. Of course, the higher Las Vegas finishes, the better their chances will be of securing one of the top quarterbacks in this year’s draft.
Finishing in their current spot or close to it doesn’t preclude the Raiders from landing a top signal-caller in the draft, but they’ll likely need a trade up to do so, which could prove very costly in terms of draft capital.
In a recent mock draft done by Cam Garrity of Patriots Wire, he dreams up a scenario in which the New England Patriots finish with the No. 1 pick and turn around and trade it to the Raiders, who are sitting in the No. 8 spot in the mock.
The package the Raiders give up in the proposed trade is massive. Garrity has Las Vegas trading the No. 8 overall selection, along with a 2025 second-rounder and first- and third-rounders in 2026 and 2027.
With the No. 1 pick in the mock, the Raiders select Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, giving them a much-needed young quarterback to take them into the future. Here’s what Garrity wrote:
New England trades: 2025 first-rounder (No. 1)
Las Vegas trades: 2025 first-rounder (No. 8), 2025 second-rounder (No. 39), 2026 first-rounder, 2026 third-rounder, 2027 first-rounder, 2027 third-rounder
The trade allows the Las Vegas Raiders to select their quarterback of the future, Shedeur Sanders, while the Patriots stockpile premium assets for future drafts.
To be clear, the Patriots are not locked into the No. 1 pick just yet. A loss in Week 18 would secure the top pick, but a win would send them in the other direction. The Pats draw a matchup with the Buffalo Bills, who will have their starters playing limited snaps, with quarterback Josh Allen included in that group.
Shedeur Sanders of the Colorado Buffloes is often times projected to be the top quarterback taken this year. Here is look at his collegiate stats:

IF the Raiders GM make that trade, he would deserve to be immediately fired/
