The Las Vegas Raiders are off to a horrible start this season.  Las Vegas has a horrendous 2-5 start on the year and just recently suffered a 31-0 defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs.  Star edge rusher Maxx Crosby has been a name brought up in trade rumors over the last few weeks.  Coincidentally, the Dallas Cowboys have been mentioned as a team interested in trading for him.

Now, they’ve made a decision on that trade.

The Raiders make a major announcement regarding the trade of Maxx Crosby to the Dallas Cowboys

According to former ESPN host Trey Wingo, Dallas has shown interest in Crosby. Eastern Michigan’s four-time Pro Bowler would certainly boost Brian Schottenheimer’s defense. He has 59.5 sacks, 394 tackles, 153 QB hits and 10 forced fumbles since entering the NFL in 2019

However, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen:

Although the Raiders are struggling this season, Crosby has still been productive with 28 tackles, nine QB hits, four sacks and a forced fumble. Unfortunately for the Cowboys, it doesn’t sound like he’ll be joining their roster.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero and Jane Slater, the Raiders met with Crosby this Tuesday to let him know he won’t be dealt before the trade deadline.

“The Raiders met with star DE Maxx Crosby today to let him know they aren’t shopping him and won’t trade him,” Pelissero wrote. “While other teams are interested, the Raiders aren’t interested in moving their best player, and Crosby wants to stay in Las Vegas.”

Pelissero added that Crosby wants to win with the Raiders.

Luckily for “America’s Team,” all hope isn’t lost. They could call up the New York Jets and see if they’re willing to deal Pro Bowl defensive end Jermaine Johnson II.

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, teams are keeping an eye on the Jets ahead of the trade deadline since they’re 0-7. Maybe, just maybe, they’re willing to part ways with players who aren’t part of their long-term plans.

In 2023, Johnson had 55 combined tackles, 16 QB hits, 7.5 sacks and a forced fumble. He’d certainly help out Dallas in the pass-rushing department.

We’ll see if the Cowboys get a deal done.
