The Las Vegas Raiders suffered a tough 22-10 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. After finishing the 2023 season on a strong note under head coach Antonio Pierce, this is not how Los Angeles envisioned their season starting.
However, they’ve quickly signed a National Champion who could help almost immediately.
Breaking: Raiders Sign Former 1st Round Pick, National Champion, After Loss To Chargers
According to NFL Insider Jordan Schultz:
Sources: The Raiders are expected to sign former Jaguars 1st-round pick K’Lavon Chaisson.
Las Vegas has been dealing with injuries to Malcolm Koonce and Tyree Wilson.
The Panthers released linebacker K’Lavon Chaisson earlier this month after spending the offseason with them.
As part of a trade involving star cornerback Jalen Ramsey, the Jacksonville Jaguars picked Chaisson with the No. 20 pick in the 2020 draft.
According to Doric Sam of Bleacher Report:Chaisson signed with the Panthers in March and appeared in two out of their three preseason games. He played 29 total snaps on defense and had one tackle. The team released him on Sept. 3.
The Raiders are coming off a 22-10 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in their season opener. The team’s defense allowed 176 yards on the ground, the fourth-highest total in the league in Week 1.
Las Vegas is hoping the addition of Chaisson will help shore up some of the team’s deficiencies on defense. The Raiders will try to bounce back when they meet the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
