A mixed start to the 2024 season has plagued the Las Vegas Raiders. It was a close loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in their season opener. This was followed by a huge road win over the Baltimore Ravens. Despite this, they stumbled badly against the winless Carolina Panthers in week three.
Antonio Pierce commented following that loss that “some of his players were making business decisions, so he would make some business decisions as well.”
One of those players who made a business decision is going viral, and fans are not happy.
Raiders Fans Go Berserk Over Leaked Video Of Player Giving Up On Play Vs. Panthers
Below is the leaked video of cornerback Jack Jones clearly not trying as hard as he could have to make a tackle:
“why did Belichick cut him?” https://t.co/oYXcQytql4 pic.twitter.com/aSooQML0A5

According to Alex Hoegler of Total Pro Sports:
Antonio Pierce didn’t specify names, of course, but new video footage suggests that cornerback Jack Jones was one of those players. Mike Renner of CBS Sports showed a video of the third-year corner showing practically no effort on this running play by Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard.
Jones had a promising rookie year with the New England Patriots in 2022, but he quickly fell out of favor after his off-the-field arrest (he was in possession of two guns at the Logan International Airport in Boston) and missing a team curfew. Jones was waived before getting picked up by Antonio Pierce’s Raiders.
Over his first three NFL seasons, Jones has four interceptions and 14 pass breakups. He has two picks and seven pass defenses over his first 10 games with the Raiders under Antonio Pierce.
It will be interesting to see if Jones is on the roster much longer.
When fans saw this play, they reacted on social media:
Oof. This is bad

Isn’t Jones the one Pierce has known since he was a kid?

You think he’s still mad about his Madden rating?

I’ll be surprised if this is one of the people AP is referring to given they’ve been super close since high school when AP coached him at Poly. But this vid is bad lol
