Michigan is sitting at home this playoff season, and a lot of that had to do with their starting quarterbacks, who couldn’t complete a five-yard pass all year.
Even though the Wolverines won’t be in the playoffs, their future quarterback might be because Texas will be taking on Clemson in the first round this weekend, and there are a lot of rumors that their starter Quinn Ewers could be heading to Ann Arbor in 2025.
Ewers returned to Texas this year after being considered for the NFL Draft, which seemed like a big mistake because the Longhorns’ quarterback draft stock fell completely.
The 21-year-old was supposed to be a first-round pick in April, but now there is a chance he won’t be selected until day three.
Ewers can return to school for more seasons, but he will not return to Texas because true freshman quarterback Arch Manning will get the job there.
Michigan Could Welcome Quinn Ewers
If Ewers does head back to school, then there is a chance he could head to Michigan because they are looking for a starting quarterback next season while they can get incoming freshman Bryce Underwood ready.
Some Michigan fans think the recent news around the team striking out on transfer portal quarterbacks means Ewers could be heading there this spring.

While it’s still a long shot for Ewers to head to Michigan, don’t rule it just yet because the Wolverines have some of the best NIL in the sport and could get him back to college for his last season and try to improve his draft stock.
Right now, it feels like the Wolverines will be rolling out Underwood Week One next season, but there is always a chance they will land a transfer portal quarterback.
