The Texas Longhorns are preparing for the Clemson Tigers this week before the college football playoffs. Texas lost to the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC Championship game. The Longhorns are 11-2 this season and the Tigers are 10-3.
One of the biggest stories for Texas is quarterback Quinn Ewers. Although Ewers has had some injury issues this season, he could very well be one of the top quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Anwar Richardson Of Yahoo Sports Reveals Massive Update On Texas Longhorns Quarterback Quinn Ewers
Anwar Richardson of Yahoo Sports provided an update about the Longhorns’ starting quarterback. Richardson said on Twitter on Friday:
“Sources say Quinn Ewers still plans to declare for the NFL Draft after this season, paving the way for Arch Manning to take over in 2025. Manning is locked in with Texas and coach Steve Sarkisian, with no plans to transfer. Right now, both are dialed in on Clemson.”
It will be interesting to see what happens when the Longhorns season is over. Undoubtedly, the quarterback position will be a major topic in this football program. It has been a topic all season long for them. Ewers completed 66.2% of his passes for 2,665 yards, 25 touchdowns, and nine interceptions this season. Some fans would rather see Arch Manning in the postseason.

What a comfortable position to be in for Texas. Manning is being smart too. He’s probably having big NIL numbers thrown at him if he transferred. Instead he’s staying, trusting the program that they’ve been building. Texas is in a really good place. And I’m a Penn State fan

lol. He’s “locked into Texas”….but leaving next season
Practically speaking it makes no difference to Texas if he declares or transfers, but fragile longhorn fans would rather see him go undrafted than transfer

Quinn should come back for another year to improve his draft stock.

Don’t think Quinn would help his stock if he came back but would also hurt the program by staying.

Ewers is either going to leave for the NFL Draft or go elsewhere next season. Quinn Ewers will probably be the third quarterback taken in the 2025 NFL Draft if he were to enter the NFL Draft. Shedeur Sanders of Colorado and Cam Ward of Miami will be the first two drafted. Arch Manning is ready to take over for the Texas Longhorns and Steve Sarkisian after this season ends.
