The San Francisco 49ers have a 6-4 record this season in the NFL. They have played Mac Jones a lot because of injuries to Brock Purdy.

San Francisco is in the playoff hunt in the NFC this season and they have performed better this year than last season. They signed Purdy to a long-term deal in the offseason, but it appears as if the 49ers maybe already regretting that decision.
NFL Analyst Concerned About San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy For the Long Haul

Mike Sando of the Athletic was talking about all 32 quarterbacks in the NFL in his latest column. He has Purdy listed under the category of we can win with our guy, but how good is he? It appears as if Sando is alarmed about Purdy’s future with the 49ers. He said,
“Purdy has played in only two games since signing his contract extension in the offseason. An injury ended his rookie season as well, so long-term durability could be a concern.
It’s almost too perfect that Purdy ranks 11th and backup Mac Jones ranks 12th in EPA per pass play this season. Coaches and executives think Purdy is better, but they also know the 49ers’ offense has been productive across a range of quarterbacks, including Jimmy Garoppolo.”
Injuries have derailed him the last two seasons. He signed a five-year contract extension in the offseason. The contract extension starts next season. He is 25 years old. Purdy in two games this season has completed 65.8% of his passes for 586 yards, four touchdowns, and four interceptions. He is projected to start for San Francisco this weekend against the Arizona Cardinals.
