Puka Nacua sure has some interesting goals set for his future and discussed the same with Julian Edelman on the ‘Games With Names’ podcast. Edelman quizzed Nacua about his retirement plans, and was surprised to know that the Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver hopes to retire in ‘seven or eight’ years.
What came as more shocking was Nacua’s plans after his retirement from the NFL. According to the podcast, Nacua hopes to go overseas and play basketball. He also hopes to buy ownership of the team and also perhaps coach.
“I know I want to go play overseas basketball. That’s why I’m like, I want to play football and I want to take that money. I want to go on LaMelo Ball, went to Lithuania. Like, I’m sure I could go to another country that only 25% of the world’s ever heard before. Get ownership in the team and go do the Michael Jordan route. I’m getting twenty-five shots up a night. I’m gonna be the coach.” Puka Nacua said about his retirement plans on the ‘Games With Names’ podcast.
Puka Nacua has been playing as a wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams since 2023 after being selected by the team as the 177th pick in the fifth round of the NFL draft. In the 2024 NFL season, the 23-year-old wide receiver managed 79 receptions in total for 990 yards, scoring three touchdowns. In the upcoming NFL season, Nacua will have a heavier load to carry after Cooper Kupp was let go by the team some time back.

Puka Nacua Does Not Think Brock Purdy Will Be Paid $50 Million
In the same episode, wide receiver Puka Nacua was asked if he thought San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy will get the $50 million per year deal that he wants. Purdy and the 49ers have been discussing the deal for some time now, after the young quarterback impressed much in the 2024 NFL season.

Nacua does not believe that the San Francisco 49ers will go that high for Purdy. If the San Francisco 49ers do indeed agree to the deal to pay Brock Purdy $50 million a year, the team will need to make huge sacrifices in everyone else’s pay. Therefore, this deal seems difficult given San Francisco’s current condition.

The San Francisco 49ers will be trying their best with Brock Purdy to do better in the upcoming NFL season. In the 2024 season, the team finished fourth in the NFC West after winning only six games and losing 11.
