Former Minnesota Vikings captain Jack Brewer isn’t holding back. The ex-safety who starred at Golden Gophers from 1998-2001 before playing five NFL seasons went nuclear on his home state’s transgender athlete policy.

Minnesota missed the Trump administration’s deadline to ban trans athletes from girls’ sports. Attorney General Keith Ellison cited the ongoing government shutdown in his response, offering zero substantive action on the Title IX violation notice.

Now Brewer’s calling out state leaders for what he sees as betrayal of female athletes and Minnesota families. It seems like the ex-footballer is trying to understand politics little by little.

Former Vikings Star Jack Brewer Goes Off on His State’s “Dark” Trans Policy,

Minnesota’s policy has been in place since 2014, allowing transgender students to compete on teams matching their gender identity.

State officials refused to meet the federal deadline that expired Friday. Attorney General Keith Ellison’s office said it won’t issue a full response while the government remains shut down. Ellison has also filed a lawsuit against Trump and the DOJ, arguing the executive order violates the U.S. Constitution, Minnesota law, and Title IX.

🚨 BREAKING: The Trump admin has ruled that Minnesota violated Title IX by allowing males to compete in girls’ sports, citing this trans softball pitcher.

Tim Walz has been given Minnesota 10 days to comply or face referral to the Justice Department.

Brewer’s not buying the legal spin. He’s literally got skin in this fight. “I still have plenty of family in Minnesota – nieces, nephews, cousins – and family members who coach high school sports there,” Brewer told Fox News Digital.

He added, “My family is being held hostage to these dark and demonic laws. I feel for my little nieces who have dreams of being athletes, for my young cousins playing high school sports, and for my former teammates who are now coaches and athletic directors across the state.”

“These are my people – that’s why I speak out. I say things they can’t. It’s a sad reality that they’re being forced to raise their children around this sickness,” the 46-year-old continued.

You can see it. The ex-NFL star left every room to criticize his own state administration for not banning athletes from girls’ sports.

He Backs Donald Trump’s Executive Order to Protect Girls’ Sports

Brewer didn’t just blast Minnesota. He doubled down on supporting Trump’s February executive order.

“President Trump is absolutely right to demand that men stay out of women’s sports,” Brewer said. “When Congress is back in session, he should cut all federal funding to states that continue this insanity. Minnesota has become the laughingstock of America – the embarrassment of our nation.”

Minnesota now faces a showdown with the feds. More than 200 school board members signed a letter urging the state to comply to avoid losing millions in federal funding, while another coalition of mostly Twin Cities boards defended the current policy.

Maine and California faced similar ultimatums and refused, resulting in DOJ lawsuits against their education agencies. Minnesota will likely face a similar outcome once the government reopens.
