Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott only played in half of the 2024 season because of an injury. Dallas finished with a 6-11 record and missed the playoffs.

Prescott is 31 years old, and he has yet to reach the NFC Championship Game with the Cowboys in his NFL career. With Dallas paying him a lot of money over the next few years, they are stuck with him. Prescott last played on 11/3/2024 against the Atlanta Falcons. It will be interesting to see how he will bounce back during the 2025 NFL season.
ESPN.com Lists Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Dak Prescott As 1 of 3 Quarterbacks To Bounce Back In 2025

Espn.com listed three quarterbacks who did not get ranked in the Top 10 entering the 2025 NFL season but potentially have the chance to bounce back in 2025. One quarterback who could potentially bounce back is Prescott. Espn.com said about the Cowboys starting quarterback,
“Prescott followed the signing of a $240 million contract extension last September by starting slowly, throwing 11 touchdown passes and eight interceptions for a 3-5 team before a hamstring injury and subsequent surgery sidelined him for the final nine games. Prescott’s 45.3 QBR in a partial season trailed the likes of Daniel Jones, Anthony Richardson and Caleb Williams. As is generally the case with any Cowboys quarterback, Prescott’s performance will be heavily scrutinized in 2025.”
He completed 64.7% of his passes for 1,978 yards, 11 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Prescott also rushed for 54 yards on 13 carries and one touchdown, along with averaging 4.2 yards per carry. With Prescott not playing well before the injury, could this potentially be a sign of things to come for him or was it just a fluke?
If Prescott is bad for Dallas in 2025, there will be a lot of questions about his future with the franchise. What Dallas can’t afford is for Prescott to hurt his hamstring once again in 2025 like he did during the 2024 season. The Cowboys wide receiver core will be better with CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens there now.
With that being said, Prescott has to perform in 2025 and get Dallas back to the playoffs. Not a lot of people are counting on the Cowboys to make the playoffs in 2025, especially since Mike McCarthy is no longer the head coach and Brian Schotennheimer is the new head coach. For now, Prescott is not a Top 10 quarterback in the NFL entering the 2025 season, but he can put his name back on the list with a solid 2025 campaign also.
