The Texas Longhorns are projected to be one of the top teams in college football for the 2025 season. Texas has been one of the top teams in the land over the past two seasons despite not winning a National Championship in that time frame.

Quinn Ewers was the primary starting quarterback for head coach Steve Sarkisian last season. This year, Arch Manning is going to take over the reins at the starter. Manning had a couple of rushing touchdowns last season and he also completed 67.8% of his passes for 939 yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions.
Greg McElroy Talks About the Texas Longhorns and Arch Manning Biggest Storyline Entering the Spring

The Longhorns will not be having a spring football game this season and Sarkisian mentioned that earlier this offseason. With Texas not having a spring game, many are wondering what Manning’s progress will be like. Well, Greg McElroy said on Always College Football,
“If Arch is as good as we think he’s going to be… the rest of the SEC might be looking up at the Texas Longhorns.”
The Longhorns made it to the SEC Championship Game last season against the Georgia Bulldogs and lost in overtime. Texas has made it to the semifinals in the college football playoffs the last two seasons and has felt short with Ewers. Some Texas Longhorns think that they should have started Arch Manning at various moments last season.

None of it matters if O-Line can’t protect and Defense can’t stay off the field. 🤘🏾

A lot of people are going to pick Texas to win the SEC and potentially the National Championship next season because of Manning. The Georgia Bulldogs, the Alabama Crimson Tide, and the Tennessee Volunteers will be the biggest challengers to the Longhorns in the conference. We will see how the Longhorns and Manning look when they begin the college football season on the road against the Ohio State Buckeyes.
