Mario Cristobal is an elite recruiter and that might even be an understatement. The Miami Hurricanes have been on a roll on the recruiting trail and it does not look like they will stop anytime soon. Cristobal made it a priority that when he was hired he was going to be a relentless recruiter and hired people around him who will recruit with the same passion he does. Within the last two weeks the hurricanes have had verbal commitments from five highly touted recruits all falling within the 2023 ESPN 300 rankings causing the hurricanes to soar up the recruiting rankings from #43 to #10.
Cristobal was a former offensive lineman for the Hurricanes in their glory days and understands that winning a championship starts in the trenches. So that is where Miami will start. Plain and simple.
Building the trenches
So far that has been evident, with two commits already in the fold on the offensive line the Hurricanes secured the commitment over July 4th weekend in 2023 5star OT Francis Mauigoa who is the highest rated offensive tackle in the country and #9 overall.
Another 5-star on the way?
After checking with sources my latest Intel suggests that more good news could be on the way for Mario Cristobal and Co. 5star DE Jayden Wayne who is ranked the #5 DE and #30 overall in the class of 2023 is scheduled to announce today live on CBS Sports HQ at 4p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT between his final six of Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan St, and Oregon. If the Hurricanes are the pick this would be another huge recruiting win on the trail for Miami.
All signs point to Miami and expect the Hurricanes to be the pick today for Jayden Wayne, unless something has changed in the recruitment in the last 24 hours With a commitment today it would place the hurricanes firmly in the top 10 with room and momentum to build on. Will the Hurricanes add another 5star to the party? Stay tuned to find out today!
