It’s officially opening night for the NFL. Which means player prop bets and Game wager for opening night kickoff. With a great matchup between the Superbowl Champion Rams vs the betting favorites this season the Bills. The Bills are 2.5 point road favorites to kickoff the season. The Bills were 10-7-2 ATS last season according to teamrankings.com. While the Rams were under .500 at 10-11 ATS.
The Game
The Rams looked dominate at the end of last season, raising the Lombardi Trophy against the Bengals. The team brings back much of their star power including Matthew Stafford, Aaron Donald, and Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp. Although they did lose Odell Beckham Jr., they went out and signed free agent WR Allen Robinson.
I’m sure you remember the Bills vs the Chiefs in the playoffs, one of the greatest games in post season history with 3 touchdowns and a game tying field goal scored in the last 1:54 of regulation. The Bills ended up falling short in overtime as they lost the coin toss and Josh Allen never got a chance to touch the ball. (Sorry Bills Fans). Josh Allen and the Bills look forward to get over the game and move on this season, but it won’t be easy.
As much as I like the Bills this season. I do expect the Rams to not only cover the spread, but win this game outright. Opening night will be electric at Sofi Stadium, also Bills Star CB Tre’Davious White is out, and they will be starting a rookie CB. I think Stafford will be able to go to Cooper Kupp, and Allen Robinson in crucial situations that will be the difference in this game.
27-21 Rams
Rams ML +120
Player Props
Player props have quickly become my favorite way to wager on games. Every play matters, touchdowns, carries, completions, etc. there is a way to wager. Value is important when placing player prop wagers. You will see a drastic drop off on some of the odds, Example if you view Cooper Kupps Receiving yard props tonight at 70+ yards its at -300, if you add just 10 yards at 80+ yards it goes down to -198. The key is finding value, and getting to props early. Follow me @Dibo_GridironH to get my prop bets as quick as I make them! I only have a couple for this evening.
Cam Akers
Over 41.5 Rushing Yards
Cam Akers came back at the end of last season from a torn achilles. When he was on the field it didn’t look pretty, however Sean McVay gave him the bulk of the work, after a full off-season, I don’t see why this would change.
Allen Robinson
Over 62.5 Receiving Yards
Cooper Kupp will be receiving a majority of the coverage, A Rob has never had a QB at the level of Stafford, also he has never had a WR opposite him to draw the coverage. I expect not only a big night, but a big season!
Darrell Henderson
Over 1.5 receptions
As much as Cam Akers will be involved in the offense, Darrell Henderson isn’t going to be missing. I expect him to get more work on 3rd downs.
Any Time TD Scores
Stefon Diggs and Cam Akers below are the reasons.
Stefon Diggs was 2nd in red zone targets in the NFL last season, Diggs is Allens go to receiving in clutch situations. I expect them to get things going early this season, in such a big game.
Cam Akers, the Rams ran the ball in the red zone at the 3rd Highest rate of any NFL team last year. Cam Akers was obviously injured. Once again, I don’t expect this to change this season. Especially with him being a more talented back than Sony Michel.
When we are making these TD score bets and parlays, we are looking for opportunity. The opportunities for both of these scores should be there.
