The Cleveland Browns are making a major coaching decision in Week 8 as the team prepares to take on the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, The Browns are 1-6 after a slow start to the season, and the team appears to be in rebuild mode after trading Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills last week.
The 1-6 Cleveland Browns are at a crossroads
The Browns are at a crossroads for their season and long-term future after Deshaun Watson suffered a torn Achilles in Week 7 that will end his campaign in 2024 and could ultimately force Cleveland to move on from the veteran quarterback.
The Browns had been one of the league’s worst offenses through the first seven weeks. Watson, a three-time Pro Bowler who led the league in passing for the 2020 season has the third-worst QBR in the league entering Week 8, only better than Tyler Huntley and Bryce Young.
The Browns offense under Watson is the only NFL team that has failed to score 20 points.
With Watson out for the season, Cleveland made another change to the offense.
Browns make a coaching change in Week 8
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, head coach Kevin Stefanski announced during his presser on Wednesday the Browns are handing offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey the play-calling duties. Stefanski had been calling offensive plays for the Browns previously.
“A major change for the #Browns: Coach Kevin Stefanski announces that OC Ken Dorsey will now call plays,” Rapoport posted on X.
