The Pittsburgh Steelers got a legitimate WR1 in the offseason when they acquired DK Metcalf via a trade with the Seattle Seahawks. The Steelers sent two draft picks to Seattle and got Metcalf along with a draft pick that turned out to be quarterback Will Howard in the transaction.
Metcalf provides Steelers wide receiver Aaron Rodgers a scary threat for opposing defensive backs.
One of the most physically intimidating players in the league, Metcalf pairs up his bulky build with freakish athleticism that makes it doubly hard for opposing defenses to contain him.
Metcalf’s hardwork with the Pittsburgh Steelers isn’t going unnoticed

Steelers wide receiver Calvin Austin III has already seen how hard Metcalf works and trains, and it’s completely left him in awe.
“Me and him hit it right off as soon as he came,” Austin said in an interview with Action News 5 Sports Director Doc Holliday (h/t Jake Brockhoff of Steelers Depot). “ One thing about him, you could see why he’s had the success he’s had,” Austin said. “Just the way he works… Just seeing him take off, the knee lift, the drive, I’m like, man, who wanna be in front of that? But you know, I feel like what he brings to our team, just in terms of who he is as a person, is gonna be something that’s big for us.”
More than that, Metcalf’s initiative to learn and get accustomed to the ways of the Steelers has made an impression with Austin.
“He’s just one of the guys,” Austin added. “Constantly asking us, ‘Oh, how did this route look? What do y’all call this’? Just constantly wanting to learn… That earns our respect right off the bat.”
In six seasons with the Seahawks, Metcalf collected 6,324 receiving yards and 48 touchdowns on 438 receptions through 97 games.
