The Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line hasn’t been able to dodge the injury bug since the start of training camp and now through the first three weeks of the regular season. Their rookie suffered an MCL sprain during the preseason opener. He missed the last two weeks of training camp and didn’t play in Week 1. Their center, Nate Herbig, suffered a torn rotator cuff in the second week of August and will miss the entire season. Isaac Seumalo suffered a strained pectoral in the last week of August and missed the first three games.
Unfortunately, their rookie suffered another injury last week.
The Pittsburgh Steelers first-round pick suffered another knee injury
Troy Fautanu exited last Friday’s practice with an apparent knee injury with the belief he tweaked his knee. The Steelers feared he would be out indefinitely since this was Fautanu’s second knee injury in two months. They had to wait and hope his injury wasn’t season-ending. However, that’s not the case.
He will miss the rest of the regular season
The Steelers placed Troy Fautanu on injured reserve on Saturday. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Fautanu suffered a dislocated knee cap and will undergo surgery. He will miss the rest of the regular season but could return if they make the playoffs. This is very possible, given their 3-0 record.
Sources: #Steelers impressive rookie RT Troy Fautanu, who was placed on IR this week, suffered what is essentially a dislocated kneecap and will have surgery to repair the ligament damage.

Oh man, this sucks. NOT a Steelers fan (nothing against them, I just live in Seattle) but I watched this Big Dawg play for a few years at the UW and he is who I wanted to see Seattle get. This kid is a BALLER and an even better human being. LOVE him. Get better Troy! WOOF!!!

He’s not going to return for the playoffs because the Steelers aren’t going to make the playoffs. But hope for a speedy recovery

That sounds gruesome. I wouldn’t wish that on anybody. Knee injuries are more painful than anybody could imagine unless you had one.

Well, us making the playoffs is a foregone conclusion. Depending on how Broderick Jones and Dan Moore play, it’ll be good to have him back
