There remains no word about Aaron Rodgers’ final landing spot in 2025. The Pittsburgh Steelers are among the reported top potential teams for the future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback, especially with the veteran pair of Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston no longer available in the QB market.
If not Rodgers, the Steelers could get a new quarterback via the upcoming 2025 NFL draft, where they hold the 21st pick overall.
One possible draft target for the Steelers is Colorado Buffaloes star Shedeur Sanders, who will be visiting with Pittsburgh this week, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
The #Steelers remain very interested in Aaron Rodgers, and the hope is an agreement eventually happens. But Pittsburgh has done extensive work on this year’s QB class — and Shedeur Sanders is now scheduled to be in the building on Thursday, per source.
Fans react to Sanders’ scheduled Pittsburgh Steelers visit

The Steelers might have to trade up to put themselves in a better position to get Sanders, though, the quarterback could also be gone within the first five picks, a scenario that likely and largely depends on what the Tennessee Titans and the Cleveland Browns – two QB-needy teams – will do with the No. 1 and No. 2 picks, respectively.
That’s not to mention that the Giants are picking third.
“Steelers would be a brutal landing spot for the Browns fans who are pounding the table for Shedeur,” said a fan.
From another commenter: “Giants are drafting Sanders with the 3rd pick”
“Hes 100% falling to Pittsburgh,” one said.
From a different social media user: “At this point Rodgers deserves to be rejected by Pittsburgh”
An angry fan said: “Tell Rodgers to get lost.”
