The Pittsburgh Steelers think they have what it takes to compete for a serious playoff run in 2024. Adding Russell Wilson was a massive get for a franchise that is known for doing things the “right way.” Additionally, Mike Tomlin has been a staple of excellence ever since he entered the league as their head coach.
As the Steelers continue to prepare for the 2024 season, their odds of trading for a star player just increased drastically.

Sources: After inquiring about Brandon Aiyuk’s availability, the Patriots have decided not to explore any further trade possibilities with the 49ers regarding their standout wide receiver. Patriots are excited about their young receivers and want to focus on them.
Ari Meirov further elaborated on the news:
FWIW: It sounds like the #Patriots were willing to offer the most money per year to Brandon Aiyuk of all the teams pursuing him. New England was believed to be offering north of $30M per season.
Seems like Aiyuk wouldn’t want to go there. And on we go…
As the Brandon Aiyuk sweepstakes continue, it appears the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers are the front runners.
It will be interesting to see where Aiyuk winds up.
In the NFL, things change quickly, and the Aiyuk-Steelers saga is no different.
After the Steelers were reportedly ruled out of the picture (on Monday morning), NBC Sports Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco and ESPN’s Mike Reiss reported that the Steelers are “definitely in it” in regards to a possible Ayiuk trade. This according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The Patriots, who were “aggressively pursuing Aiyuk,” backing out means the Steelers have much better odds. It will be interesting to see if Pittsburgh pulls the trigger.
